Racing Riches

Racing Riches is a new game coming to the USA soon that will allow players to bet on NASCAR and the results of drivers. A multi-year deal was signed between NASCAR and EquiLottery games to provide the lottery style game and will likely begin rolling out to state lotteries across the country soon.

The NASCAR betting style game mixes with a lottery style draw as players will buy a ticket that randomly selects three drivers in that week’s race, and players win prizes depending on how those drivers do. Players will not be able to choose their specific drivers on their entry and all three will be chosen randomly when buying their ticket. Racing Riches will take place weekly alongside each NASCAR Cup Series race in conjunction with the Cup series calendar.

Richest NASCAR Drivers

The top 10 earning drivers in NASCAR last season made over $116 million from salaries, endorsements, race winnings and licensing revenue, the top six of which all took home over $10 million each, ranking them as some of the highest earning sports stars in America. It was no surprise to see Jimmie Johnson as the top earner after scooping just over $17 million, whilst rival Kyle Busch was just below after taking home $15.8 million.

Richest NASCAR Teams

Hendrick Motorsport take the title as the richest team in NASCAR, which comes as no surprise for the team that started out in 1984 and has a total of 16 Drivers Championships and 12 Cup Series wins. Valued at over $350 million and with 310 total wins, its no surprise to see big name drivers Chase Elliott and Jimmie Johnson, the highest paid driver, behind the steering wheel in a Hendrick Motorsport car.

Richest Races

The Daytona 500, easily the most recognisable motor race in the USA, holds the title for the richest NASAR race on the calendar. The prize purse for 2020 is a whopping $23.6 million, up from an apparent $15.5 million in 2018, whilst the winning driver will take home $2.06 million to make it the first time a driver has won over $2 million from a single race.

2020 NASCAR Cup Season

The 2020 NASCAR Cup Series has largely run unaffected due to Coronavirus that swept across America, with a few races being cancelled. Sadly for the dedicated fans a lot of the races that are taking place are behind close doors, so no fans are in attendance. It has been announced though that for races from June onwards should start seeing guests and fans being allowed back in to some capacity.
